Dona Paula Beach – The Lovers’ Paradise

The rich and fecund Dona Paula beach of Panaji is a proud bearer of the National Institute of Oceanography and Goa University. This beach looks lovely and sun kissed during the day while haunted after the night sets if myths are to be believed. With many resorts and paid cottages set up by businessmen, this place is totally worth visiting and getting some share of rejuvenation.




A merger of both Zuari and Mandovi rivers in the Arabian Ocean, this beach has emerged as a keen spot. Apart from being scenic and popular, this tourist attraction is also a stunning draw for movie makers. A picturesque view of Mormugao Harbour is equally pleasant to watch at from Dona Paula Beach.

Around 9kms away from the Dona Paula Beach and spread to around 2 km sq. ft there is a bird sanctuary – Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary. It is a mangrove forest. This place on the island of Choro is just apt if you are an eminent bird watcher. Apart from this there are beaches like Miramar Beach and Vaiguinim Beach situated just 1 to 2 km away from Dona Paula beach.

For sports enthusiast this beach offers a Dona Paula Beach Sports Club that arranges all the exciting sports like parasailing, water skiing, skibob, snorkeling, harpoon fishing, kayaking and yachting.
